John Winsolow Institute School of Massage was started in Quincy in 2005 by John Vasco and Elizabeth Hunter, two experienced business people that shared a vision of creating a massage school experience that would train eager students to heal body, mind, and spirit.

The Instructors:

Mary Fanning

Mary Fanning graduated from the Massage Institute of New England in October of 2002.  Her training was extensive and the 850 hour program allowed her to immediately open up her own business in Canton, MA called a Massage To Remember immediately following her graduation. 
 
In May of 2007 Mary relocated to Holbrook, MA and the operating business under the new name of Healing Hands has been thriving ever since. 
 
Mary's credentials are extensive as she has been an instructor at the Massage Institute of New England as well as the John Winsolow Institute of Massage.  Her firsthand knowledge of the massage industry, has allowed her to apply seven years of self employment and incorporate this into her business classes.  She understands that "knowledge is power" and incorporates many different learning techniques in her classroom. 

 
Mike Leary

Mike is a 2000 graduate of the New Hampshire Institute fro Therapeutic Arts in Hudson, NH. Mike uses Myofascial Release, Deep-Tissue and Trigger Point therapies. He also incorporates Facilitated Stretching and Neuromuscular techniques to reduce muscle tension and initiate relaxation responses. Mike has extensive athletic rehabilitation experience and worked as team massage therapist for the Nashua Pride Professional Baseball team and treated other pro-athletes. His skill set also includes: Relaxation, Reflexology, Perinatal. Lymphatic Massage and Eastern Techniques as well as Hot Stone Therapy. Mike has held licenses in the States of NH and CT. He is a Nationally Certified and Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Mike is American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified. He is the lead therapist at Massage Works, Inc. in Quincy and has worked wit the L-Street Running Club for the past three years.
